New to Indoor Cycling? Read This Before Your First Class
Indoor cycling can look intense—fast legs, loud music, lots of numbers on the bike—but it’s one of the most beginner-friendly workouts you can do. You don’t need to keep up with anyone else! It’s you vs. you! All levels are welcome in my classes.
1. Bike setup
Seat height basics
Standing next to your bike, raise the leg closest to the bike to 90 degrees. That will give you your saddle height.
Handlebar height should be at least as high as your saddle. Comfort is important here.
2. Resistance before speed
Light spin = unstable
Resistance = control + safety
3. Breathing
If you can’t breathe, back off
Talk test > leaderboard
4. Consistency
One class won’t change your body
Two–three rides per week will
If you’re brand new, your only job is to show up. Consistency is key. I coach every class with beginners in mind—even when the room looks advanced.
